The heavy snow has created a Winter playground for those, willing to brave the freezing temperatures.

 

Several hundred Washington residents squared off in a massive snowball fight. While in Germany, swimmers went for a Winter dip.

Billed as a battle between the North and South, hundreds of participants gathered at Dupont Circle a roundabout and park near downtown Washington.

Some carried pre-made snowballs. Others prepared snow-walls for protection.

Liz Kucharcyk, Local, said, "I'm getting ready for the snowball fight that's supposed to take place this afternoon, so I'm stocking up on some snowballs. I don't know exactly how it's going to happen, or what's going to happen, but it should be good."
