A special concert dedicated to hearing impaired children, has been held at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing. It marks China's 10th National Ear Care Day.
Melodies flow at the concert hall, for a special audience which has difficulties hearing. Three children, who have artificial cochlea implants, took to the stage to communicate with the musicians. With their aids, the children can hear what the musicians are playing.
One child says the sound is like the crying of peacocks.
Backstage, seven year old Wu Shangze, who also has a cochlea implant, sang part of his favorite song. He says his dream is to be a painter when he grows up.
Musicians hope the concert will build the hearing impaired children's confidence. With modern medical technology, listening to music is no longer an impossible dream.
