The water level at the upper reaches at the Chongqing section has dropped to 31 centimeters. That's 2 meters lower than in previous years. Parts of the navigation channels have become shallow and narrow. Related departments have taken measures to guarantee the safe navigation. It's expected conditions can be eased early next month.
