A young girl was successfully pulled out of the rubble of Zha Xi Hotel in the quake-hit Yushu prefecture Friday afternoon. The rescue team that found her has also detected indications of other survivors.
According to the rescuers from Chengdu city, they picked up signals in the hotel ruins not far from where the girl was found. The reading from a detector suggests a warm hand covered with blood. Since people are buried under piles of concrete in what used to be the second or third floor, it is extremely hard to reach them. Rescuers are now trying to access the area by digging from the other side. Rescue workers have been working nonstop since they arrived and are fighting serious physical strain from the high altitude.
