About 130 injured suvivors from Wednesday's quake were being rushed into hospitals in Shaanxi and Sichuan. Doctors are trying their best to save lives.
On today's early morning, 102 injured survivors arrived at Xi'an Xiangyang International Airport. Emergency cars lined up in front of the plane to speed up the rescue efforts.
The injured were immediatly sent to the Xi Jing hospital, and the affiliate hospitals of Xi'an Jiaotong University, which are among the top hospitals in Xi'an.
35 injured survivors were sent to the First Affiliate Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. A special treatment area was cleared especially for the quake victims. Brand new sheets and clothes were prepared. The best doctors in the hospital were designated to the area. Nutritionists prepared special meals to the injured as soon as they arrived.
Liu Chunguang, Deputy Director of 1st Affiliate Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong Uni., said, "About 80% of the arrived patients suffered from bone injuries. According to the pre-examiniation, there are some very complicated injuries. But vital signs remaind stable. Now we gathered all the specialists in all areas in our hospital, trying our best to forge the perfect treatment plan. "
At the same time, some 20 injured were flewn to Si'chuan Province People's Hospital for treatment.
As soon as they arrived, they were sent to the emergency center for careful examiniations.
Some voluteers have waited in the hospital for a whole night.
A student volunteer said, "I'm from Si'chuan University of Nationalities. I'm volunteering to be here as a translator, to facilitate the communication between patients and doctors."
The volunteers said they would stay as long as they could to help.
