For several days after the Yushu earthquake residents could only eat solid food because of power cuts and water shortages. But now with the arrival of more relief materials and equipment, they can enjoy hot meals.
It's early morning Tuesday and armed police have started to distribute instant noodles, already covered with boiling water.
They say they distributed more than 20 thousand bags of instant noodles to Yushu people. And they had enough supplies to last at least 5 or 6 days.
Yushu Resident, said, "We did not have water to drink in the past few days, and we have enough water now. It feels comfortable. Thank you very much."
There was only some porridge provided at the beginning. Now the daily necessities available are increasing and a variety of food is being offered to local residents, including some chicken and beef.
Zhao Pusheng, Material Assistant, said, " All we had at the beginning was what we brought here. And now more supplies have come, and the quantity and quality of relief materials has greatly improved. We can serve more and more people."
Relief workers say more fresh vegetables, eggs and meat will be arriving, and the catering will improve to meet the demands of more people.
