Now to the floods in central China's Hunan Province Xupu County of Huaihua City experienced extreme rainstorms throughout Thursday. The downpours caused flooding and triggered landslides.
Four bridges collapsed and 68 roads were cut off by flooding, affecting 130-thousand people. The body of an elderly man was recovered from the debris of a landslide, bringing the death toll from the rainstorms in Hunan to 12. Around 42-thousand people were relocated to safe areas as the rainstorms lashed more than 280 townships in the province. Heavy rains are forecast to continue for the next five days.
