The world's number one automaker, Toyota, has announced that about three hundred thousand cars sold worldwide, including Lexus sedans, have faulty engines.
This comes after Toyota recalled more than 8 million other vehicles because of faulty accelerators and other defects. Toyota says it is considering recalling the vehicles with faulty engines.
More than half of them were sold overseas, including the popular Crown and seven models of luxury Lexus sedans.
So far, there have been no reports of accidents linked to these faulty engines. Toyota has refused to say how it discovered the engine troubles.
