The organizer of a three-month nationwide campaign against online piracy says the operation will focus on illegal online sites. The program will be aimed at sites that host online games, popular TV programs, movies and music.

The campaign, jointly launched by the department in charge of copyright protection, the police and industrial and commerce officials, is to last until October. Authorities have been closely monitoring and will block web-sites involved in copyright infringement. Selling or uploading pirated publications related to the Shanghai Expo and the Guangzhou Asian Games will also face severe punishment.
