An 18-year-old Nepalese man has been officially named the "World's Shortest Man" by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Khagendra Thapa Magar measures just 66 centimeters, and weighs just over 5 and a half kilograms. He broke the record previously held by Colombian Edward Nino Hernandez who was 70 centimeters tall. Thapa behaves and speaks like a young child, and attends kindergarten with children 5 years old. Local doctors have yet to figure out what caused the condition. Meanwhile, Thapa seems ready for the media spotlight that comes with his new title. He is to serve as a government-appointed goodwill ambassador in the Visit Nepal Year in 2011.
