Apple is suing Motorola for infringing on patents, related to its smart phones.
Apple said in a filing last Friday, that several Motorola handsets violate its patents, related to the iPhone's touch screen and user interface. Apple says it wants Motorola to stop infringing on the patents, and is seeking an unspecified amount of damages.
Motorola was the second-largest phone maker in 2006. But Apple's iPhones have surged in popularity. The company sold 14.1 million in June through September.
