Chinese President Hu Jintao has met with his Portuguese counterpart Anibal Cavaco Silva in Lisbon. The two leaders agreed to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
During the meeting, Hu Jintao outlined a four-point proposal to boost Sino-Portugese ties. First, he called for strengthening political trust and cooperation by bolstering the exchanges between the governments and legislatures.
Second, he said the two sides should expand trade and economic cooperation to double the current two-way trade volume by 2015. Third, he called for both sides to boost cultural exchanges.
