Taiwan has scooped top honors at the annual Golden Horse Film Awards, one of the most prestigious ceremonies for Chinese-language films. The ceremony was hosted in Taoyuan, northern Taiwan.
Pop idol Ethan Juan Ching-tien won Best Actor for his role in gangster flick, "Monga". Lv Liping from the Chinese mainland garnered Best Actress for her role as a working-class mother in Beijing-based drama, "City Monkey".
Taiwan drama "When Love Comes" was awarded Best Film, while Best Director went to Chung Mong-hong for his film "The Fourth Portrait", which explores domestic violence. The awards judge Chinese-language films from Taiwan, the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and Malaysia and Singapore.
