The DPRK has condemned what it calls the triangle military alliance between the US, South Korea, and Japan.
The country says it not only damages peace prospects on the Korean Peninsula, but also poses a severe threat to peace in east Asia, and around the world.
Tension on the Korean Peninsula escalated following a deadly exchange of artillery shelling between the north and south last week.
The United States, South Korea, and Japan chose to conduct a series of large scale military maneuvers in waters near DPRK borders.
And the latest warning of retaliation from South Korea's new defense minister has further fueled tension in the region.
The DPRK on Saturday condemned what it calls----the triangle military alliance.
It said although there is no formal treaty for such a military alliance, the US is coaxing South Korea and Japan to have a massive buildup of their military capabilities in a bid to "round off the tripartite military nexus."
The DPRK once again warned the situation on the Korean Peninsula is getting tenser and the danger of war is increasing owing to their reckless moves.
Officials from the US and Japan have said the ongoing war games are just routine, conducted every two years, and the drills are not aimed at any one country.
But analysts say negotiation is the only way to achieve a stable Korean peninsula, warning further conflict is possible if tension remain.
They believe the drills and military cooperation between the US, South Korea and Japan are an apparent deterrent designed to discourage any possible DPRK attacks in the future.
