Chinese President Hu Jintao has toured the southern Chinese island of Hainan after attending the BRICS Leaders' Meeting and Boao Forum for Asia. He's investigating the implementation of the country's 12th Five-Year Plan and the province's reform and development.
Hu visited a tropical agricultural production base, and showed concern for people hit by serious floods last October.
He said villagers' unswerving spirit in the face of natural disasters was valuable, and he hoped local people could further increase fruit and vegetable production to boost their incomes.
