South Korea's National Council of Churches has sent multiple truck loads of food to the DPRK. However, the South Korean Unification Ministry says the shipment was not authorized.
Flour, worth around 100 million Korean Won, and donated by South Korean Christians, entered the DPRK on Wednesday. But unification Ministry spokeswoman, Lee Jong-joo, says the organization should not have gone ahead with the move.
South Korean law states that the transport of supplies in or out of the DPRK requires Unification Ministry approval. But a spokesman for the Council of Churches says they were acting under Christian beliefs, by providing food to the starving.
