First, an update on the rescue effort to free a number of trapped coal miners in southwest China's Guizhou Province. Rescuers have found the body of one miner in the flooded coal mine, while 11 others remain trapped.
The discovery came Tuesday night, more than 60 hours after the accident occurred at Fuhong Coal Mine in Guiyang city. Rescuers are continuing to remove sludge from the flooded shaft, and the 11 trapped miners may yet survive. But, high density gas has hampered the progress of the rescue mission.
An initial investigation has indicated that the mine failed to follow an approved production design, which ended up causing the accident.
