Don't worry! We've got a solution. Spend a couple of hours roaming the Capital Museum in downtown Beijing and you can satisfy all your curiosity about the city's past.
The on-going exhibition at the Capital Museum features a wide variety of items celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The pieces on display span decades, from photos, manuscripts and memorabilia tracing the revolutionary course of CPC members and their courageous deeds in the capital before the founding of New China.
In order to have visitors more involved with the exhibition, a special interactive activity is added to bring audiences closer to history.
Huang Xueyin, deputy dir. of Capital Museum, said, "We've created a map of Beijing, with all the historical sites being introduced here highlighted and marked with detailed notes, such as how you can get there by public transportation. The Capital Museum is the main venue of this interactive activity, supported by a dozen of other museums and memorial halls spotted around the capital as paralleled venues."
Meanwhile a photo exhibition chronicling the changes of Tian'anmen Square over the past century is also on display at the Capital Museum.
The show includes more than 140 photos taken in different periods, which faithfully capture critical moments along China's road to revival.
