Electronics giant Apple is getting a slap on the wrist from the communications regulator in South Korea. The maker of iPads and iPhones is being hit with a three-million won fine. The punishment works out to about 28-hundred US dollars, and it is for allegedly collecting location data from users without proper authorization.

The fine, though small, marks the first time Apple has been punished by a regulator over controversial location data which sparked criticism in the US and elsewhere.
