The 2011 China Snooker Tour Finals started in Yixing, Jiangsu Province on Sunday. China’s star player Ding Junhui advanced to the last 16 beating Chinese Youth champion Zhu Yinghui.

Ding didn’t perform well on Sunday night, but with plenty of big event experience, he outclassed his novice opponent to jump to a 3-0 lead. 15-year-old Zhu Yinghui is a promising player though, he recently won the Chinese Youth Championships.

Despite being behind, Zhu dug deep and bounced back to win a frame. But facing Ding, he was no match for the seasoned professional.

It was Ding who beat his opponent 4-1, advancing to the last 16. Other matches saw Xiao Guodong win 4-2 over the younger Zhou Yuelong and Tian Pengfei was an upset loser to qualifier Wang Linhan 4-0.
