The 4th BRICS Summit will be held in New Delhi on Thursday. Leaders of BRICS nations, including China, India, Brazil, Russia and South Africa will meet to discuss the world economy and increasing coordination within the group.
The summit aims to increase trade and investment between members states, while also reflecting on global peace, security, stability among other issues.
Food and energy, security and inclusive growth remain the primary objectives for the summit. Meanwhile, the BRICS Financial Forum will be held on Wednesday.
The BRICS group has emerged as a loose united front to press rich Western economies, especially the United States, into giving emerging countries a bigger say in global institutions like the World Bank and IMF.
The addition of South Africa added another continent, giving the group a wider platform to address issues from the developing world.
