Chinese marine surveillance ships are continuing regular patrols in territorial waters surrounding the Diaoyu Islands.
A statement on the State Oceanic Administration's website says the fleet includes the Haijian 50, the Haijian 66, and Haijian 137 ships. It says the marine surveillance force will overcome any difficulties it encounters, in order to secure China's territorial integrity, maritime rights and interests.
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Japanese ships and planes have been spotted inside Diaoyu Islands' waters and airspace in recent weeks. China has lodged solemn representations with Japan, demanding that it stop its illegal actions and engage in talks to find an effective and proper solution to the issue.
