United States special envoy on DPRK policy, Glyn Davis, is set to meet with his South Korean counterpart Lin Sung-nam, to discuss ways to restart denuclearization talks with Pyongyang.
Davis arrived in Seoul on Monday. He said the Korean Peninsula tension was abating, as Pyongyang recently stopped issuing threats against the South Korea and the US. And his visit aims to give a signal that the US is seeking negotiations with relevant parties.
After South Korea, Davis is expected to fly to Beijing on Wednesday and hold talks with China's special envoy for Korean Peninsula issues Wu Dawei. Following which he will pay a three-day visit to Japan from Thursday.
