Chinese President Xi Jinping met with US National Security Advisor Thomas Donilonon in Beijing on Monday. They discussed details of President Xi Jinping's meeting next month with his US counterpart Barack Obama. The two leaders are set to meet in California on June 7th and 8th.

Paving the way for talks between leaders of world's two biggest economies...

Donilon said President Obama is looking forward to exchanging opinions with Chinese President Xi Jinping on US-China relations and regional issues.

Xi Jinping says the meeting will give a new boost to bilateral ties.

Earlier in the morning, Donilon also met with Chinese State Councillor Yang Jiechi.

Yang Jiechi, Chinese State Councilor, said, "Your visit plays an important role in strengthening bilateral trust and cooperation. It also serves as good preparation for the meeting between the leaders of our two countries."

Tom Donilon, US National Security Advisor, said, "The meeting will be an important opportunity for our two presidents to have in-depth discussions about US-China relations, and a wide range of regional and global challenges facing both our countries."

Xi Jinping and Obama will be meeting at the Sunnylands Estate in California.

It was constructed in the mid-1960s as the winter home of Walter and Leonore Annenberg. In 2001, the couple established the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands to "address serious issues facing the nation and the world community. It has hosted 7 seven U.S. presidents, British royalty and other world leaders.

The president of The Annenberg Foundation Trust says the couple hoped their estate could become a ‘Camp David of the West' where the US President would meet with world leaders to promote global peace and facilitate international agreements. And the upcoming meeting between Xi Jinping and Obama begins to fulfill that vision.
