Severe blizzards are continuing in northeast China, seriously affecting flights and expressway traffic.
China’s meteorological authority is warning the snow will continue for a prolonged period in both Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces. Many parts of Heilongjiang have seen snow as thick as ten centimeters by Sunday with provincial weather authorities saying the blizzards will last until Tuesday in some areas.

Several expressways within the province have been closed. Harbin’s Taiping International Airport has issued a yellow alert for flight delays, with visibility dropping below 500 meters.
Heavy snow is also covering most of Jilin Province, closing several expressways. An orange snow alert has been issued, with eastern Jilin expected to see continuous snowfall over the next 24 hours. As with Heilongjiang, the snow in Jilin is predicted to last until Tuesday.
