It started out as a simple request to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for sick children, but has now turned into a full-blown phenomenon. San Francisco was recently turned into Batman’s Gotham City, with 11,000 volunteers helping a five-year-old boy realize his dream of becoming batman.
A tiny superhero - Batkid! - Saving the day in San Francisco which, thanks to crowds of thousands cheering him on - transformed into Gotham city. 5 year old Miles Scott has battled leukemia for four of his five years got his make-a wish foundation wish to be batman. Well, batkid.

He saved a damsel in distress on the cable car tracks, defused a bomb, rescued the giants’ mascot and
Double crossed the riddle, a special edition of the San Francisco chronicle issued in his honor.
"It was so cute. He was just the cutest, you could see him get all excited and put his hands on his hips, I mean, it was fun, it was so much fun." said Jackie Johnston, San Francisco Resident.
And for putting the kapow on the bad guys, President Obama offered his congratulations
And from the mayor, the key to the city, and the promise …
"I proclaim November 15 to be Batkid day in the city of San Francisco forever!!! From now on!" said Edwin Lee, mayor of San Francisco.
The promise no one will ever forget what happened here today in what became a city full of superheroes.
