A?horrifying video has been released by Islamic State Sunni insurgent group in Iraq. In the video, a man identified as US journalist James Foley is shown being beheaded. Before that, he is seen kneeling next to a man dressed in black as he reads a message.
"I call on my family, my friends and my loved ones, to rise against my real killers, the US government. I die that day John, when you colleague drop that bomb on those people. They sign my death certificate. I guess all in all, I wish I wasn't American," said Foley.
"This is James Foley, American citizen of your country. So any attempt from you, Obama, to deny Muslims, their rights to live in safety to result in the bloodshed of your people. The American citizen, Obama, depends on your next decision," said the man who captured Foley.
The horrific video was posted on YouTube on Tuesday. And it has not been independently verified. The White House says if it is real, the US would be quote "appalled by the brutal murder".
Foley disappeared in November 2012, in northwest Syria, near the border with Turkey. He was reportedly forced into a vehicle by gunmen, and he was not heard again. At the time of his disappearance, he was working for the GlobalPost.
And the other journalist in the video who is under threat of death is believed to be Steven Sotloff. Sotloff is a freelance journalist. He went missing last August, while on assignment near Aleppo, Syria.
