Premier Li said the bilateral relations have continued to develop since the two countries established diplomatic ties 65 years ago. Noting tuesday's in-depth and fruitful talks between President Xi Jinping and Nguyen Phu Trong, Premier Li said the two sides had reached an important consensus on several issues.
He said that as neighbors, China and Vietnam should consolidate political mutual trust, and jointly create favourable conditions to develop economies and improve living standards. He said they should join hands in upholding regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Li Keqiang mentioned the forming of maritime, land, and financial cooperation working groups, stressing the significance in establishing new methods of cooperation. He also said the two countries will step up efforts to promote cooperation on the joint exploration of the Beibu Gulf, the Great Mekong River and pan-Beibu Gulf.
Nguyen Phu Trong said Vietnam pays high attention to developing comprehensive strategic partnerships. He said Vietnam will help accelerate the work of the three working groups. He said the two countries will conduct negotiations on maritime issues for peace and stability.
