European leaders have met in Brussels to discuss a number of issues affecting the bloc, including Brexit, the Syrian conflict, and the ongoing situation in the Ukraine.

The group announced they would extend sanctions against Russia, after urging Moscow to make greater efforts to protect Syrian civilians, and to move forward on implementing a cooperation pact with the Ukraine. Europe's top politicians also discussed the EU's relationship with Britain as London prepares to leave the bloc.
