The drug suspect, Sergio Villarreal, also known as "El Grande", was now under control of?navy marines in the city of Puebla, east of Mexico City.
He is alleged to be a top?leader?in the powerful Beltran Leyva cartel.
Another drug lord, Edgar Valdez, known as "Barbie", who led a rival faction of the same cartel, was arrested two weeks ago. .
The navy?claimed that they have arrested Mr Villarreal?without any resistance and they also arrested another two people who were with him.
Previously,?the Mexico government offered a reward of around $2.3m (￡1.5m)?for information leading to his arrest. |
