China and the European Union are making preparations for the next leaders' meeting, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tuesday.
"In accordance with Premier Wen Jiabao and EU leaders' consensus, China and the EU are actively preparing for the 12th China-EU summit," Ma Zhaoxu told a regular briefing in Beijing.
Ma did not release details such as when and where the meeting will take place.
Initiated in 1998, the summit is the highest-ranking dialogue platform between China and the EU. Premier Wen attended the 11th China-EU summit with European leaders in Prague in May.
