An explosion killed five persons including a Nepalese in Paktia province east of Afghanistan on Tuesday, spokesman for provincial administration Ruhullah Samoon said.
"The blast occurred inside an aid agency office in Paktia's provincial capital Gerdez this morning killing five people including a national of Nepal and an Afghan woman," Samoon told Xinhua.
Financed by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the targeted aid agency has been supporting Afghan government's local employees in the field of capacity building and good governance, Samoon said.
This is the second bomb blast in Afghanistan in a single day on Tuesday. The previous bombing, for which Taliban claimed responsibility, hit the capital city Kabul, claiming the lives of eight civilians and wounding 40 others.
