A suicide attacker hit an army convoy in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir on Saturday and killed a soldier, said a senior police officer in the region.
The bomber blew himself up near a convoy of two army vehicle in Rawalakot, a main city in the region of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, at around 10 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) and damaged one vehicle, Senior Superintendent Police Sajjid Hussain said.
Hussain said that the attack near a check post at Dothan area, some 15 kilometers from Rawalakot, also injured several others. The injured were shifted to military hospital in Rawalakot.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
It is the second attack on the security forces in Rawalakot this month. A suicide bomber attacked an army facility in Rawalakot district earlier this month and killed at least four soldiers.
Pakistani Taliban had claimed responsibility for the previous attack.
Dothan area is near the Line of Control (LoC), which divides Pakistan and India in the disputed Kashmir region. Locals said there are several military installations of the army.
