China's trade unions will step up friendly cooperation with Cuban counterparts, China's top trade union leader, Wang Zhaoguo, said Tuesday.
Wang, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, made the remarks in a meeting in Beijing with Salvador Valdes Mesa, general secretary of the Confederation of Cuban Workers.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said China and Cuba complement each other in many aspects of national construction and there are broad prospects for cooperation.
Mesa said Cuba valued friendship with China, hoping that the workers' unions of the two sides would increase exchanges and so as to contribute to the growth of bilateral ties.
Mesa is visiting China at the invitation of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. He also attended an international forum on economic globalization and trade unions last week in Beijing.
