Israel set free on Wednesday four Syrian citizens who were on board the Gaza-bound aid flotilla, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said.
The four pro-Palestinian activists, namely the Archbishop Hilarion Capucci, the Bishop of Jerusalem in exile Shaza Barakat, Mohammad Satlah and Hasan Rifai, who had arrived at Jordan are expected to be back in Syria soon.
The Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem had called the activists to inquire about their health condition, SANA said.
The four Syrian activists were among some 700 other international activists on board the Gaza-bound aid flotilla attacked on Monday by the Israeli navy. At least 9 were killed and many others were injured, while the rest of activists were arrested.
UN Security Council on Tuesday demanded Israel to immediately release the detainees, urging Tel-Aviv to launch impartial investigation into the incident.
