Ten civilians were killed as police and Taliban militants came in contact in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, a private television channel Tolo reported Tuesday.
"The clash begun Monday night and continued until Tuesday morning in Shirzad district had claimed the lives of more than 10 civilians," Tolo aired in its news bulletin.
Citing Taliban sources, the television channel also reported that 13 policemen were killed in the gun battle.
Meantime, officials in Nangarhar province have yet to make comment.
