An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted the sea area in Vanuatu at 0504 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 133 km, was initially determined to be at 15.222 degrees south latitude and 168.052 degrees east longitude. It was about 115 km east northeast of Luganville, a city on the Espiritu Island, Vanuatu.
