The Arab League (AL) said Tuesday that the Arab Peace Initiative Committee will convene on July 29 to evaluate the current indirect negotiations and the possibility of entering into direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
Ahmed Ben Helli, assistant secretary general of the AL, said in statements that the coming meeting will be a chance to discuss the progress of the Middle East situation.
Arab foreign ministers will hold another meeting in New York in September, added Ben Helli.
Circumstances and justifications for starting direct negotiation will depend on discussions of foreign ministers, he said.
