Israeli airplanes struck at several targets in the Gaza Strip late Tuesday, apparently in response to the injury of two soldiers by Palestinian militants earlier in the day.
Witnesses said that two of the air strikes targeted smuggling tunnels beneath Gaza's southern border with Egypt and destroyed two tunnels. Medical sources said there were no casualties in these raids.
The warplanes also bombed an abandoned house in the east of Khan Younis city where clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants took place. A militant was killed on Monday and two Israeli soldiers were lightly injured early Tuesday in the same area.
