China was Bulgaria's biggest strategic partner in Asia, Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva said Tuesday.
Developing relations with China was a common view among all political parties in Bulgaria, Tsacheva said during her first meeting with China's new ambassador Guo Yezhou.
The Bulgarian parliament wanted to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China's National People's Congress to raise the level of bilateral relations, she said.
The Chinese ambassador said Bulgaria was a good partner of China.
Guo said bilateral relations had developed well since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Bulgaria 61 years ago.
There was a trend toward faster development of these relations, he said, adding that exchanges between the two parliaments were an important part of the relationship.
China was willing to deepen relations with Bulgaria in various fields, and give impetus to the good communication between the two parliaments and to the development of relations between the two peoples, the ambassador said.
