At least 12 people were killed when Hurricane Tomas tore through the Caribbean resort island of Saint Lucia on Tuesday, Tourism Minister Allen Chastanet said.
He told local radio that 12 was confirmed dead until now and the toll from the disaster could rise.
It was estimated to have cost 100 million U.S. dollars in the island, and some communities remained suffering from the disaster.
On Saturday, Tomas reached the island with winds over 120 km per hour, damaged homes and downed power lines in Barbados and St. Lucia with strong winds and heavy rains that caused no loss of life.
The governments of Barbados and Saint Lucia dropped all tropical storm warnings for several Caribbean islands.
