Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department on Thursday confirmed that 122 people lives were claimed by nationwide flooding in northern, northeastern, eastern, central and southern regions.
From Oct. 10 to Nov. 4, overall 39 provinces in northern, northeastern, eastern and central parts have been affected by floods and landslides which killed 110 locals. There are 1.8 million households or approximately 6 million people suffered from the disaster.
Recently, however, waters have receded in 19 provinces, so 20 provinces are currently inundated by floodwaters.
Meanwhile, a total of 11 southern provinces have been affected by the flooding, caused by three days of torrential rains since Sunday, which left 12 people dead, the department said.
