Several dozen Palestinians on Sunday clashed with Israeli security forces at the Qalandiya crossing in the West Bank.
About 90 people attempted to breach the crossing, hurling rocks at soldiers and police officers at the scene, according to a statement issued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson's Office late Sunday. Six rioters were arrested and taken for questioning by the security forces.
The riot is the second to occur in the West Bank in the past two days. Earlier this year, four Palestinians who tried to breach the same crossing were arrested after hurling rocks and firebombs at the security forces, the statement said.
In another incident over the weekend, military forces dispersed Palestinian demonstrators in the West Bank city of Hebron. Three demonstrators were arrested and the area declared a closed military zone.
