The latest scandal, surrounding Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, may have damaged his image and reputation, but his party's PUBLIC favorability is still rising. This means that once again he's likely to win this early election, if it goes through.
Forty-nine percent of respondents, say the Prime Minister should step down, UP nearly one-tenth from a year ago. But it's voter support for his People of Freedom Party, that rose to 30 percent, UP from 27 in December thus cementing its rank as Italy's strongest political force.
The latest poll was conducted, after Milan prosecutors, alleged that Berlusconi paid for sex with a "significant number" of prostitutes, charges he of course vehemently denies.
