At least seven people, including two kids, were killed and over a dozen others injured after an explosive-laden car went off on Wednesday near a police station in the outskirts of Peshawar, main city in northwest Pakistan, police sources said.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene and transferred the injured to a nearby government-run hospital, where emergency was declared. Doctors said that two children were among the dead. It is feared that the death toll could rise.
