Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Beijing Monday afternoon for a three-day state visit which is expected to promote the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Chinese President Hu Jintao will hold talks with Nazarbayev. Nazarbayev will also meet with Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Premier Wen Jiabao.
Both sides will explore ways to further bilateral ties and pragmatic cooperation, and discuss international and regional issues of common concern, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said last week.
The two sides were also expected to sign a series of documents on bilateral cooperation.
Nazarbayev will also visit north China's economic hub Tianjin.
