An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale struck New Britain region, Papua New Guinea on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake, which occurred at 07:24 Thursday local time (2124 Wednesday GMT), was at a depth of 33 kilometers, the USGS said.
