Senior Chinese and Vietnamese political advisors on Thursday vowed to cement friendship and bilateral ties.
Wang Gang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Hoang Tham made the pledge during a 45-minute meeting in Beijing.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, hailed the current Sino-Vietnamese ties and called for further cooperation between CPPCC and the Vietnamese Fatherland Front.
He said the current good bilateral relations are hard-won and maintaining the relations are in the fundamental intersts of the two countries.
Tran Hoang Tham, who is heading a delegation of the Fatherland Front, said the Vietnamese side attaches importance to its relations with China and hopes to further enhance friendship and friendly cooperation.
The delegation is also scheduled to visit Tibet, Sichuan Province and Guangdong Province.
