Operations of Taliban coordinated attacks from Tuesday noon against U.S. embassy and other buildings in capital Kabul were finally ended on Wednesday, with all militants killed.
The attacks claimed by Taliban broke out on Tuesday noon and the assailants seized an under-construction building in Abdul Haq square near U.S. embassy and NATO's Headquarters in Kabul.
The following is the major attacks in Afghan capital Kabul since the beginning of Year 2010.
2011
Aug. 28 -- A suicide bomber was killed when his explosive-laden car enroute to Bagram air base in north Kabul exploded prematurely just outside northern edge of Kabul. No one was hurt in the pre- dawn blast.
Aug. 19 -- Taliban multiple suicide attack include two suicide car bombs on British Council -- a British cultural body in Karte Parwan area killed nine people including a New Zealand solider with NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
July 17 -- Jan Mohammad Khan, a senior advisor to President Hamid Karzai and a member of Afghan parliament Mohammad Hashim Watanwal were killed when two armed men attacked Khan's house in Kabul.
July 3 -- Three police injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off in Dehmazang area on the main road to parliament in west of Kabul.
June 28 -- Nine suicide attackers stormed a luxury hotel -- the Inter-Continental Hotel on a hill frequented by foreigners and high-ranking officials killing 10 civilians including a Spanish guest and injuring 18 others.
June 11 -- Nine people were killed and 11 others injured when three suicide attackers stormed a district police station a few kilometers south of presidential palace in Kabul's commercial hub.
May 31 -- One civilian was killed and six injured as a bomb went off next to a police checkpoint in Chehilston neighborhood south of capital.
May 21 -- A suicide bomber in army uniform blew himself up in a tent where military medical students were having their launch in Kabul's 400-bedmilitary hospital killing six people injured 23 others.
April 27 -- Nine American trainers with the NATO-led ISAF were killed when an Afghan pilot opened fire on them in a training center in Kabul military airport. The shooting followed an argument between the veteran Afghan pilot and trainers.
April 18 -- A suicide bomber in army uniform blew himself up near the Defense Minister office building inside defense ministry killing three army personnel and injuring another.
April 14 -- A truck bomb was detonated in front of government office buildings in Musayi District south of Kabul injuring four people and destroying two government house which give home to a police station and administration offices in Musayi district.
April 9 -- Ten people including seven army personnel were injured when a suicide bomber attacked an army bus in east of Kabul.
April 2 -- Three NATO soldiers were wounded when three Burka- clad suicide attackers stormed Camp Phoenix in Jalalabad road east of capital. One civilian caught in cross fire was also killed.
Feb. 14 -- A suicide bomber attacked the entry of Kabul Business Centers in a commercial district if New City killing two security guards and injured two more.
Jan. 28 -- Eight people were killed and 15 injured when a suicide attacker opened fire on shoppers before blew his explosive up inside Finest Supermarket frequented by foreigners in Wazir Akbar Khan diplomatic district.
Jan. 12 -- A suicide bomber on a motorbike attacked a bus carrying staff of Afghan intelligence agency in west of Kabul killing three people injuring 32 others.
Jan. 4 -- A policeman was killed and three others injured when a bomb went off in Muradkhani area near the presidential palace and defense ministry.
2010
Dec. 19 -- Two suicide bombers attacked an Afghan army bus in eastern Kabul killing five army soldiers, injuring nine army personnel aboard the bus.
June 2 -- Three Taliban fighters seized an under-construction building in west of Kabul firing rockets on a big tent where over 1,500 Afghan representatives gathered in a peace Jirga or assembly. No one in the meeting was injured in the attack in the presence of President Karzai and several diplomats.
May 18 -- Six NATO soldiers and 12 civilians were killed when a suicide car bomb targeted a NATO convoy near Afghan parliament building in west of Kabul.
Feb. 26 -- Seventeen people including nine Indian national were killed when a group of suicide bombers attacked a guest house and the nearby hotel in business hub New City or Sharhri Naw locality.
Jan. 18 -- Five people were killed and 71 including 36 security personnel were injured when Taliban seized a five-store shopping center and opened fire on government office buildings near presidential palace.
