Norway suffered its worst post-World War II tragedy on July 22. Anders Behring Breivik, a 32-year-old Norwegian, killed 77 people by bombing central Oslo and then gunning down dozens of mostly teenagers at a Labor Party youth camp. Breivik had reportedly been planning the atrocity for nine years. The shooting rampage reflected the surging far-right sentiment in Europe.
